The Swiss Federal Assembly has approved a motion to give orders to the Federal Council to included cryptocurrencies in its existing legislation, according to a press release published by the government. The motion asks the Federal Council for the regulation and implementation of cryptocurrencies. It instructs the Council to adopt digital assets to existing laws. The proposal was introduced by Liberal assemblyman Giovanni Merlin. It was approved in the council by 93 votes supporting it, and 83 votes against the initiative. Swiss Finance Minister Ueli Maurer, however, said that the proposed developments exceed the scope of the planned regulation.Remember that Switzerland is one of the most advanced countries in blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.
