Kraken Intelligence, the intelligence arm of the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange, analyzes this data hack and what it can mean for the company and users as a whole.
Many Ledger customers have received suspicious emails asking them to click and download a newer version of the Ledger wallet software. The criminals who are behind this scam are most likely using almost ten thousand customer emails and contact information from a breach of the Ledger platform. The hackers are very advanced and are redirecting victims to legder.com instead of the proper website ledger.com. The Ledger team has responded and taken down the false URL, but this is another reason why you always need to be extremely careful when dealing with your personal information.
