A Paraguay-based company has purchased fumigation products and pesticides from a company in Argentina using Bitcoins. This is the first ever export-import deal using Bitcoin in customs history. The amount of the deal was around $7,100 in bitcoin, that was instantly changed into Argentine pesos in the Bitex platforms. According to the local news outlet Crypto247, bitcoin was only the vehicular currency, but quotations were always in local fiat currencies, in this case, Pesos for Argentina, and the Guarani for Paraguay. As a matter of context, $1 is equal to ₲6,040.30; and $38.52 Argentinian Pesos. However, no dollars were used in this transaction, neither via Swift net or banking wires. The transaction was in real time, not the usual 3-day waiting.
