The social media giant has announced that in order to help bring cryptocurrency to the masses it will be allowing advertisements related to the industry. In a recent blog post on Facebook Business' Blog, the company confirmed that it will be reversing a rule it introduced back in 2018. This rule required written approval for any paid advertising which related to cryptocurrencies. Following feedback received from many users and the re-assessment of the policy, the company decided to make the process more accessible. Whilst still requiring businesses to apply to run ads directly promoting cryptocurrencies, it will no longer be necessary to get approval for ads focusing on blockchain, industry education and news, or even events directly linked to digital tokens. In the same statement, the company declared that from the 5th of June ads promoting CFDs, or contracts for difference, will no longer be accepted. Facebook's latest move is yet another step to appear in a positive light with the crypto community. With its Project Libra, the company is said to be investing heavily in cryptocurrency and blockchain, but the success of its efforts depend also on being accepted by crypto users and traders.
