Exchange platform, BitPanda have announced they will be partnering with Charlie Shrem on the well-known bitcoin enthusiasts, Untold Stories podcast. Charlie Shrem is a well-known voice in the bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry, who has had quite a turbulent past operating in the industry. First buying bitcoin in 2011 while at college, he launched the Bitcoin Foundation in the US, an organisation focused on bringing bitcoin to the fore of the financial world at a time when it was a taboo and in fact, illegal. However, he inadvertently found himself in hot water with authorities due to the firm because of bitcoin's use on the controversial dark web marketplace, Silk Road, and thus, his perceived involvement. As a result of this, he was arrested and spent two years in jail for unlicensed money-transmitting. Subsequently, he resigned from the Bitcoin Foundation which became defunct a short period after. However, since being released from prison, he has remained an advocate for the world of crypto, and he is very much one of the OGs when it comes to pioneering bitcoin. Despite the setbacks, both in terms of personal sacrifices, not to mention the unpredictability bitcoin has demonstrated over his lengthy career investing, his longitude in the industry shows real dedication to the cause. One of the numerous ways he has been staying involved is via his podcast Untold Stories- which is the podcast that BitPanda will now be sponsoring as a result of this latest partnership with the Shrem. What is Untold Stories? A per Shrem himself, “in order to understand the what, you need to go back and understand the why. Of course, due to this own severe ups and downs within the industry and his ever-present involvement in the industry, Shrem is the ideal person to host such a show and speak to these other industry professionals. As such, Untold Stories is very much one of the quintessential podcasts for those interested both in the on-going developments of bitcoin as an industry and the history that has led us up to the era of widespread acceptance for the currency we are finally in.
