Seattle-based online retail giant Amazon has partnered with global payments company WorldPay to include Amazon Pay to its list of merchants, according to a press release published by PYMNTS. The movement has been seen as an approaching of Amazon to Ripple as the market believes that the new partnership between Amazon and WorldPay will be a case and effect move that will include Fidelity National Information Services and Ripple. After recently having acquired WorldPay, it is worth noting that another one of Fidelity's most prominent partners is Ripple. Then, Amazon is a partner of WorldPay, with a direct line to Ripple. Or at least, that is what the market is thinking. Amazon Pay Vice President Patrick Gauthier said that Amazon is not closing the deal "to insert ourselves between a merchant and customer; we’re here to remove friction points."
